Dave Aftandilian Why did it take me so long to find these guys? Apocalyptic dark folk visions of nature wiping clean the ugly stain of humanity from her infinite beauty...what's not to love? The ritualistic repetitive droning and chanted vocal elements remind me powerfully of what I used to like best about Current 93. Deeply moving.

nosluap I had no idea these guys were right in my backyard. What a pleasant surprise to discover this killer band here on Bandcamp. I really like all of their music but this Neofolk record is the pinnacle for me. Every song is very engaging and well done! Favorite track: Falling.
Owen W

Owen W This was the best kind of surprise. Oak Pantheon's approach to neofolk is evocative and somber, with the acoustic guitars creating a beautiful atmosphere with paired with whispered or low sung vocals. Like walking through woods at dusk. Often reminds me of Agalloch's folksier works, and I can't think of much higher praise than that. Favorite track: Falling.
Old Star

Old Star This is a impressive feat for Oak Pantheon. I am very impressed with this change of pace, and I really hope that they incorporate it into their future sound. 10 out of 10! Beautiful music and Harrowing lyrics! Favorite track: Sol.

yeeing the yaw Literally every track on this album is wonderful to listen to, the only thing I wish the album had was a little more singing. This album is definitely worth a listen and purchase ⚡️⚡️ Favorite track: Sol.

CARPAGE OP has never written a bad song. So Grossly Incandescent is like an acoustic companion to Godson. Most excellent.... Favorite track: So Grossly Incandescent.

Sol 04:00
The oceans will rise And the forests will set aflame And the coasts will all erode And we won't mind that much at first And the droughts will starve us And the heat will burn us And the disease will thin us out And one by one we'll disappear The death of man by his own hand The bodies will rot And the air will choke us And the storms will sharpen And we won't mind that much at first And the seasons will fade away And the rain will never end And the sky will turn black And all at once we'll disappear The death of man by his own hand
2.
Falling 03:16
Falling It's falling down The sun hurled aflame towards the earth As it was falling down, I could hear it say Did you really think there were any gods... Other than Death and I? Falling It's falling down A godless world With senseless greed A smell of smog in the air Purpose fabricated It's never enough Death gave a chilled gaze and placed his frigid hand Slowly on my shoulder, and he said to me Did you really think there were any gods... Other than Sol and I?
3.
(lyrics taken from "Darkness" by Lord Byron) I had a dream The bright sun was extinguished And the stars wandered in the eternal space The icy earth swung blind and blackening In the moonless air Morn came and went And men forgot their passions in the dread Of this their desolation All hearts were chilled into a selfish prayer for light A fearful hope was all the world contained Forests were set on fire hour by hour They fell and faded The crackling trunks extinguished with a crash And all was black And war did glut himself again A meal was bought with blood Gorging himself in gloom The world was void Seasonless, herbless, treeless, manless, lifeless

I want answers to the unknown Empires rise and fall Is there something to gain, a reason ordained We must know Is God laughing the whole time Mankind meets his end Will we ever be saved or ever be damned We must know Tomorrow I need answers to the unknown Empires rise and fall And there's nothing to gain, no reason ordained We don't know God is laughing the whole time Mankind meets his end And we'll never be saved we'll never be damned We don't know

Hear me now We have a chance The end is near And we have a chance Or we'll burn We'll burn Regret, regret There is no hope for all is lost Return, return The sacred order of the earth Hear me now? We had our chance The end is here And we had our chance And we'll burn We'll burn Regret, regret There is no hope for all is lost Return, return The sacred order of the earth
